TCU Purple Bike Program

Important Note!:
All 50 of our bikes are checked out! Please add your name to the waiting list if you would like one!

At TCU, we're striving towards a cleaner, healthier earth. In fact, you might have heard of some of the recent changes we've made on campus, such as biodegradable plates and silverware in the student cafeteria and switching to a new paper-saving online billing service.

The TCU Purple Bike Program is one of the schools flagship 'going green' programs. Operated from within the Sociology Department and masterminded by the founder, Dr. Keith Whitworth, the Purple Bike Program supplies custom-painted 'cruiser-style' bikes to students, faculty, and staff at no charge to help reduce the number of cars on and around campus.

Here at the Purple Bike Program website you can find out more about the Program, including how to check out a bike, how to get maintenance for your bike, and how to calculate and then offset your Carbon Footprint. Just mouse over the menu on the left to get started!
